I AM SO SCARED! I have no idea what to expect and I’m really scared because U of I is one of my first choices! AH!

I feel for you guys. It’s a very anxious time for you. But rest assured that if you’ve covered all the bases, you’re better off than most people involved in the college application process.

Remember that you’re in charge of how well you do, how much you learn, and how well you perform once you graduate from wherever you get your college experience. There’s a college out there for you, and while it’s a cliche to say that the cream always rises to the top, it’s true none the less. Bottom line is that if you work hard, you’ll be successful in life. I hope you all are successful in getting into your first choice university, but, if you’re not, the real winners will shrug it off and continue to work hard wherever they end up. A guidance counselor who is both a harvard graduate as well as a grad of Washington University in St. Louis stated it best: “In the top universities where you’re competing against other top students, half are still below average.” So, given an individual student who might attain a B average at a top school, if he/she chose to attend a school with a slightly less highly ranked student body, he/she would most likely obtain an A average.

So, I guess what I’m trying to say is that it will work out for you, no matter where you end up, and, most certainly, worrying will change nothing in the end.

thank you balth.
I am soo nervous!! I usually am not a faith/chance type of person, but right now I just wish that the admissions office is in the holiday mood!

I’m nervous too. I would really like to get in because my parents both went here and it’s such a beautiful campus with great academics. However, if I don’t get it, it will make my decision to go to university of Minnesota much easier!!

Honestly, I just want to go to college.

I fully expect to be deferred (applying to business school), so I’m not all that anxious about the 12/16 decision date since I don’t expect a real decision.

i think i’ll get accepted but unless i get some great scholarship, i will not be attending.

I really hope everyone gets in who really wants to get in!!! I have faith everything will be fine :D

Anyone have any stats on how many get deferred in the priority round, especially for Business? I heard that Business defers the most…
