The reporter never got in the way of anything. He was doing reports for some time before the police officer got in the way. Also, there were other news stations there.

The police officer used excessive force and should be arrested for throwing the camera to the ground.

Again this is your opinion (especially the part about being there for “some time” - I don’t remember that from the video), and you still don’t know what you are talking about. Just because it doesn’t seem to you that the reporter was “in the way” doesn’t mean that he can just do what he wants. It is the prerogative of the police officers (and other emergency personnel) to manage their scene, including getting rid of unnecessary vehicles on the shoulder of a highway.

Right - based on your knowledge of the use of force continuum I’m sure… gocha.

All the cops I’ve ever dealt with have been professional. But the pricks among them sure make the news.

I really can’t stand the *******s who pull people over going to the hospital with dying relatives in their cars and then keep them there while said relatives die. Google it, several cases at least. The one who kept the NFL player outside while his mother-in-law died in the hospital isn’t any better. I hope the ones involved in those stops join their buddies from Pittsburgh and Oakland.

If stupid remarks were against the law, this would be a misdemeanor.

You are one sick, sadistic piece of ****. All the officers in Oakland did was try to get an armed child rapist off the streets-and they paid with their lives. Likewise, the cops in Pittsburgh were only trying to do their job and protect their comrades. Trying to cast these officers in a bad light is reprehensible and should be condemned. Unless, of course, you like people who rape 12 year olds running free wherever they want to…judging by your comment, I wouldn’t be surprised.

It is worth noting though that there’s a reason crap like this makes the news, that being that it’s thankfully rare. Sorry if my comments are out of line. I genuinely respect most officers, but there is a minority among them who are truly horrible people.

There are corrupt people in every career field. I’ve met … 6 or 7 police officers, and they were all nice as heck, so this thread is just inane.

In Soviet Russia, Police Officers have little respect for YOU.

Very true. No point saying you do or do not have respect for an entire career field, IMO… who the hell are you going to call when you wake up to the sound of smashing glass?

You obviously are completely unaware of how much responsibility police officers have and the pressure they feel when making these decisions. You have no idea.

So its one MORE reason, huh? Youve been involved before, then? But then again thats your problem.

Insomniatic, statements like this are exactly why you should not be going on about police situations until you learn more about what is legal and what is not and to consider what could have possibly preceeded the video.

Police don’t have to read you your miranda rights just because they arrest you…
