Looking to go into anthropolgy with focus on physical/non-western cultural

Meant to say “many” in topic… fail

Hey  your transcript looks really solid from what I can see. Have you/are you going to take the SATs at all? Not that that really matters. I would suggest you get your test scores up a bit more for schools such as Dartmouth and Duke. Your ECs could be a bit stronger, but then again they look pretty strong already! Here’s what I think:

Davidson- not sure, sorry!
UVA- high reach (if you don’t get your test scores up), but legacy may give you a boost…
Dartmouth- reach
Duke- reach
Rice- target
Emory- low reach/target+
Vanderbilt- low reach/target+
William and Mary- low/mid reach (scores must be higher!!)
URichmond- low target/safety
Washington and Lee- low target

I’m not an expert or anything, but I hope this helps- good luck!

smileygirl32: UVA- high reach (if you don’t get your test scores up), but legacy may give you a boost…

High reach for in-state legacy with 50th percentile scores? Please let us know what you’re smoking and where we could get some.

So is UVA target?

I would say it’s more of a high match with a good chance of you getting in.

If you don’t get into UVA with legacy and being a staff kid, Dartmouth and Duke will not happen.

Yeah, I was going to apply to duke or dartmouth for the heck of it, but I think I’ll hold off and wait to see if I can get my ECs and test scores up. Anyway, I’ll end up somewhere next year. Thanks for the feed-back!

Analgin- are we talking about the same UVA? University of Virginia? No need to get to testy

Maybe because anthrolove is in state and has legacy, she does have a greater chance, but looking at stats from my school: the average weighted GPA of acceptance is a 4.85/4.5, average single SAT of 2209/2240, average combined SAT of 2221/2400, and average 35 on the ACT- of all the people who applied.

I’m not saying you don’t have a chance at all! Like I said before, you’re already a pretty solid applicant. Good luck again!
