One question for tomorrow's Math SAT.

Y = Mx + B

Let's say Y = 3x + 4

Does anyone know what does it translate it to in the x-axis and y-axis reflection?
How would you rewrite the equation?

What are you trying to do to the equation? You should be relaxing right now.

Reflect it in the x-axis and y-axis and rewrite it into two new equations.

I need it memorized.

Oh i know this one!
1st u s choose 2 points from the given function
then reflect the points by X axis (x value doesn’t change change sign of y)
or yaxis( yvalue doesnt change change sign of x)
then plug in points and solve to get the new equation!!

For x-axis reflection, put a negative in front of Mx, so it would be -Mx and a negative in front of B, so it would be -B. Thus, -Mx-B.

For y-axis reflection, put a negative in front of Mx, so -Mx. Thus -Mx+B.

Thanks QuicksandSlowly. :)
