One semester at 4 year, then CC back to 4 year

If I am unhappy at my current university, a top 20 LAC, and decide for sure that after one semester I want to be somewhere else next year, how would it look if i finished the second semester at a CC or Extensions college. I'm hoping that by doing this, a competetive school like Emory or Brown, will see that I was atleast capable of doing the work at a similar 4 year university and can review my transcript with that in mind. Any thoughts or personal experiences? Thanks a lot

Wow, I sort of had that same idea. General concensus when I talked to people was that it was a BAD idea. I guess colleges prefer people who seem well-adjusted wherever they are and who take challenging courseloads. (Who would have known?) What LAC are you at?

there have to be more opinions on this subject...

If you are interested in being a professional, you should read the dialogue at my "Transfer Advice" post

My cousin did exactly this at Kent State. Just say it was because you couldn't afford 4 years of undergrad, and you will be fine.

What school is your cousin now going to?

I agree with TheWizard...someone has to have experience with this! I'm thinking of doing the EXACT same thing...and I hate where I am :-/

Well, I have heard of a couple of people who were even at 4 schools. They were both very bright people with outstanding GPAs who could probably make themselves sound competent on paper -so I'm sure anything is possible
