hi all,

my son took the ACT and got 36 in math but mid 20s in verbal sections. total composite was 29. he wants to study engineering which would make perfect sense. my question is how does this play if he applied to top tier engineering schools? thanks in advance.

They’ll look at the composite as well as the individual sub-sections. If your son wants to go to a top-tier school, I suggest he study, focusing on verbal, and then re-take it.
