Do admissions folks look at the brakdown of ACT scores as well as the composite? My son received a 33 in English and a 29 in Math....didn't do well in science and got a composite of 28. How would he be evaluated....solely on the composite or on the basis of his highest individual scores? Welcome you inout...Thanks

I believe most just look at the composite.

I’m hoping so, because my scores were kinda similar to his.
28 Composite
29English, 32Math, 24 Reading (yuck), and 28 science.

I’m also wondering this. I hope they don’t break it down. I got:
30 Composite
34 English, 32 Math, 24 Reading (fail), and 31 Science
I really don’t want that reading score to hurt me.

If he’s applying to engineering schools, this might be an issue. Otherwise, I don’t think admissions officers care about at each individual score for the ACT. They just look at the composite.
