One simple question..well, I guess you can call it one question in general!

Hey everyone. Haven't posted on these forums in quite awhile. I just have one question to ask, and I'm curious for answers.

How would you rank the following colleges, from best in education, majors, etc. to least best in majors, etc.

Rutgers University in Piscataway
The College of New Jersey
Montclair University
Gregorian Court University

I also heard from a fellow teacher that Montclair and Rutgers are almost the same thing (i.e. practically offer the same majors, have same large campuses, etc.). Is this true? If you had to chose one out of the two, which one would you go for? I also heard that Rutgers has a large Muslim population - what about Montclair?

Could someone list me the pros and cons of each college as well?

Also, what if you took the SAT Subject Tests in, lets say, 10th grade, and you applied to a college that only accepts SAT Reasoning scores, not SAT IIs. Since Collegeboard sends ALL of your score reports (XP which stinks if you ask me), will they consider your SAT II scores when it comes to deciding if your accepted or rejected? I know they don't count, but what if you don't have decent scores, and the admission representatives happen to look at them? Wouldn't they judge them as a part of your application? EVEN if the scores were counted as extra, would they ever?

One last thing: Whenever I research a college or university, I also check out their average SAT scores..do low average SAT scores for a certain college indicate that the college is not a really great one? Same goes for high SAT average scores - do higher ones indicate that the college is a really good and prestigious one? Thank you so much.

Please answer ASAP, as I need to send out applications and credentials soon..what a procrastinator I am. =_= Senioritis has really bogged me down and gotten me really lazy these past few months. Tip: DON'T ever let it get to you! NEVEREVEREVER..it's really not good.

Thanks in advance~

I've heard great things about TCNJ. That would be my first pick.

Okay. Anyone else?

Bumpity Bump.

doodoododo...any answers please?

I've heard of Rutgers having a really good teaching program. If you get into the specialized program, you get your BA/MA at the same time. Which you will need in addition to a Masters in an academic subject...if you plan on teaching secondary.

No, I don't think I'm going to go into teaching, but thank you for the information anyway. =) Anyone else? Please? I really need some information here.

TCNJ is the best. The others ...don't know anything about them.

Better SAT scores means it is a better school.

You don't have to specify that you want your SATs sent anywhere when you register for them. Just have the report sent to yourself.

You can have score reports sent to colleges later, after you see your scores, but you have to pay.

I just have one side question..if I'm applying to several colleges now (who have deadlines around Feb-March), is that considered to be too late? I know most seniors get their applications done around Nov-December, but I'm homeschooled and..well, I've had a bit of a delay these past couple of months. =( Any feedback or experience on this situation would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I think it is more commonly known as Rutgers New Brunswick, which is the main Rutgers Campus (even if it is in Piscataway). That and TCNJ are competitive colleges, but it depends on what you want to major in re which is "best". TCNJ was called "Trenton State" for many years so it is a young college but has earned a great reputation. Rutgers has been around for about 300 years. Montclair State is not as competitive. Gregorian Court - no idea.
