I'm in my penultimate year at a British uni studying economics. Was wondering if anyone could shed some light on which top American unis offer one-year master's programme in anything that's non-sciency. I know Yale has one in international development.

Thanks!

Many universities offer one-year MA programs. You do need to define your goals a bit more though rather than just asking for “anything that’s non-sciency”. One place to start your search is [Search for Colleges and Universities, Graduate Schools, Online Degree, Private Schools - Peterson’s](http://www.petersons.com/)

Thanks! I’m not too concerned on what to read, and just wanted to delay graduation by a year and study something interesting in a different place. However, seems like that the only common one-year programme is the MFin. Can anyone suggest courses which are likely one-year long?

EDIT: social sciences, humanities, arts and architecture, economics, finance, psychology, philosophy etc.

Why don’t you just enroll as a non-degree student for a semester or a year and see what US education is like? We don’t really have many one year programs like in the UK. Many 2 year MA programs have 3-4 semesters of coursework and a thesis (usually in the 4th semester).
