Online Application Question

Hey guys,

In part 2 of the online application and in the subsection of short essay,

question 2 states: Name a Penn professor with whom you would like to study or conduct research and explain why. (300 character limit)

Unfortuntely I do not know any Penn professors since I am not attending the school yet, although i’d like to. To solve this problem, did the rest of you like what i am thinking right now, go on their website and search up a professor and explain why?

Thx in advance for the help.
Regards,
Mike.

Well, I actually already knew about Witold Henisz, because I've been obsessed with Penn for years, so I just wrote about him. But yeah, there's tons of stuff online, so just do that. The faculty all have working papers and articles and everything online.

haha my friend wrote: this question is asking me to lie. i don't know any penn professors because i haven't gotten into penn yet. I refuse to search on the internet for some obscure professor and pretend i'm in love with him.

but i totally searched on the web ;)

i wouldnt do what the friend did...my adcom said penn liked that question a lot.

I actually like that question too. I think Penn wants you to research their school so if you get in you don't just walk in no knowing anything more about the school than that its an Ivy.

I looked up a professor and found someone I would most definately want to interact with. They aren't asking for the prof's life story and how you know it. Just what about them interests you.
