<p>if i wrote an essay saying how much i wanted to attend my state university, wouldn't that give all the other colleges a huge turn-off? what can i do to send each one a DIFFERENT essay for the ONLINE CommonApp main essay?</p>

<p>You can send the Common App to one college at a time. So you can in fact write a different essay for each school and still use the Common App.</p>
