Online Homeschooling/Community College for Senior Year?

There are quite a few reasons that I’m considering online homeschool and or community college for next year

  1. The classes I want to take, my high school doesn’t offer (Calc 2, Macro/Micro Econ etc.)
  2. I want to double major in dance and business so
    A) I can focus on improving my dance technique since I’m a late starter and not at the appropriate level for ballet
    B) I can (at least I think I can) get credits for the classes.
I have most of my graduation credits, I just need English and Gym to complete the 4 year requirement.
  3. I’m doing my applications over the summer, which I don’t know if that makes a difference either

My tentative schedule for next year would be: AP Stat, AP Lit, AP Euro, AP Spanish, Gym, two electives.

I was thinking I would take courses at my local community college or possibly, through my school, take online courses.

I don’t know if this will ruin my chances of getting into college though!

The schools I am looking at are:
Montclair State
Mason Gross at Rutgers
Muhlenberg
Goucher
University of South Florida
Florida State University
Towson

Please let me know how this would affect my application and chances.
Is this a good idea or a disaster?

As a home schooler, I attended classes at a community college while in hs. I loved it but it does make the admission thing kind of not easy. Anyway, maybe your hs and cc has a program where hs students can attend some college classes while in hs. I recommend staying at your hs. I mean its your senior year! Have fun!

I took community college classes while in high school. You should really talk to your school counselor. At my school, you could transfer the college classes you took to your high school transcript, so it could really only help you. (CC was ridiculously easy compared to some of the classes at HS, so I got some A’s to boost my GPA.)
