Online Language Course for Credits

Hello all - in advance, sorry if this is in the wrong forum, feel free to tell me/delete it if it is.

So at my school, only 4 kids signed up for AP French out of the 10 needed for it to run. Therefore, it’s not running, and I’m left with a gap in my schedule. I’d like to fill this gap with a language class. The language I want to take - Russian - isn’t offered at my school, so I’m looking at online options.

Students were limited to one VHS (Virtual High School) seat next year, and I’m already taking a VHS course, so in this instance VHS isn’t possible. I’m looking at other online options such as Coursera.org. I’m fairly certain that my school will accept my selection as an Independent Study, as long as I can prove my decision to be beneficial and legitimate. Can anyone recommend an online language course site? I’m just brainstorming here, so any suggestions are helpful.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Are you prepared to pay for the courses? If so, my top recommendation: http://www.flvsglobal.net/students-families/courses/

Alternatives (I haven’t personally used these ones but I have heard of them quite a bit):

How much are you willing to spend? Virtual Virginia offers AP French, but its going to cost a little more if you’re not a VA resident.

What are u taking on VHS?

I’m taking AP Art History on VHS. I would be willing to take AP French, but i’ve studied french for four years and I want to branch out into a cyrillic language or something a little different, ya know? Just a thought

I’m not a huge fan of either of those subjects so I can’t really advise you on this lol.
