yes i know 50 in chips, but whats the deal with getting it free :S

My guess is you cant simply make an account and take the 50 chips, you have to make a certain amount of money before being able to take out...

i want to start online poker when i turn 18 in a few months, but want to do it in a way that my parents would not find out that im doing this

could i deposit money directly from my savings/checking account through neteller? and then when i cash out would the money be sent directly back to my bank where i have the savings account?

also is this illegal, someone mentioned somthing that i ahve to pay taxes on this?

Thanks tooya, I'll only have approximately $500 to invest. Do you need to be 18 to buy or not, and can I just give my parents the money and have them buy it for me?? I'm a sophmore so I don't know if I'd be aloud to buy or not. Thanks.

bumpppppppppppp

You people saying the stock market:

Are you sure you know what you're doing? The stock market is an extremely volatile way to play with your money and seriously suggesting to someone who has no prior experience in investing is kinda like giving a 14 year old girl a Platnium Visa. Stupid.

Send me a pm with your email address and Ill send you the info for $50 free for online poker...

Any other ideas? Something weird you guys have seen work.

As I said in the other thread, my brother started putting his money into the stock market last year at 14. He's done relatively well. Dont assume that being young means you dont know what to do. That's inexperience, not age.

Your brother has probably studied quite a bit then. Taking "a couple econ" classes" or just blindly suggesting it to someone is pretty dangerous. Just for the record, I started pretty young as well and I've made enough to get by as well. Of course, I had a lot of help from experienced people.

He has plenty of opportunities to learn from my father, but he pretty much just picked it up from watching CNBC, reading the WSJ, reading tech sites and the like. All self learned. No direct help.

Oh, and just for the hell of it, I got my Citicard at 13. At 18 in a few days, I have perfect credit ;)

now this is a friend of a friend that has done this -- he bought computers on ebay, installed software, then resold them for more money

otherwise you're allowed to play lottery, aren't ya? :D

I use to do surveys online. Got a $5 check every week along with free products like V8 fruit punch, I also got amazon gift card and sometimes I would get $50 bux.

I agree that investing in the stock market without wisdom is folly. Two websites that have immensly helped me are ifa.com and altruistfa.com/readingroomarticles.htm . The second website is a treasure trove of information.

If you learn a little bit about the market and diversify somewhat it shouldn't be all that risky. Diversift Beta's, look for the low P/E and PEG and find high operating margins. Using yahoo finance is all you really need and you can make a decent return.
