I'm sick of being poor and I'm a little young to get a real job (14), and I was thinking of ways I could make some money.

I have come up with only one idea and that is to make some product or service and try to sell it. I haven't really thought of anything besides baking things, and I don't think I would make that much money.

When I was 15, I worked at a summer camp at the Jewish Community Center in my area. Although I was only a CIT and did not get paid...when I finally became a staff member a summer later, I got paid an extra 400 dollars verus other counselors my age because I had been a CIT beforehand. The parents gave us tips at the end of the summer and I got a lot of babysitting jobs through it

Do you have any skills or hobbies? Some teens sell homemade cards, art products, jewelry, clothes...granted you'd have to be rather creative and probably have to launch a website or you can just sell it to your classmates, parents' coworkers, and neighbors.

I just turned fourteen and I'm in eighth grade, do you think I'd get any business? I'd put an ad in the paper saying that I'd tutoring elementary and middle school students in any subject for about $8 - $10 per hour.

14 may be old enough to work at daycamps over the summer, but thats 6 months away. Illegal operations will get you more money faster and none of my friends who sell "stuff" have been caught, but it takes a special person to be willing to traffic such items.

You might be able to obtain working papers.

Or, you could look for an investor and sell Avon or something. I saw a neat thing a tv a while back about dudes selling Avon.

Mowing lawns is not too bad a deal. Or shoveling snow?

Do you know how to make anything? If you know how to make anything interesting, you could make an e bay store and market the heck out of it. There are folks who make wallets and stuff out of duct tape and sell it on e bay and whatnot. Seriously.

Babysitting always works. And if you're creative, make stuff and sell it. And I know this doesn't help right now, but during the holiday season, I work at a store helping gift wrap things. Even if you can't get an official job like that, post flyers around the winter holidays saying you'll come to people's houses and wrap their presents for them. Or maybe offer to babysit while they do the wrapping?

when are you turning 15? if it's before the summer, your job status goes way up. At 15, you can work at a lot of places, mostly the movies and non-fast food quick service restaurants (i.e. ice cream, snack joints) and lifeguarding, depending on your states regulations.

yeah, no one hires 15 year olds here. and 18+ is definitely preferred over 16/17. i am 16 and so far i havent been able to get a job where i live.

i run an online business. haven't made enough to want to drop out of college, but enough to not have to beg my parents for money. :)
