Online Payment + Deadline

The deadline for Yale's application is today, Dec 31st, midnight ET.
With some credit card issues, I was unable to pay online until today. I received a confirmation email from Common App regarding my payment, but it "may take a few days for this transaction to be posted to [the] online application".

If within these next few hours, the triangle doesn't turn green, what should I do to submit my application? The app can't be sent until the payment triangle turns green...

its not about the arrow turning green
its about the details saying “submitted”
i bet youre experiencing the same problem as me… does it say ‘not submitted’?

Yep, it says “Not Submitted”.

Who knew that two words could cause such anguish…

Yeah, im having the exact same problem. I paid, got confirmation email, and yet that box is red. And I cant submit the app.

I paid with my credit card and, even though a green arrow hasn’t shown up yet, I was still able to submit the application. Does it not allow you to submit?

Well, for Upenn, it requires the payment to be submitted before i can turn in common app. so i cant until the payment says submitted. Well, at least I have until tomorrow I guess to submit it

My application is…still not in Yale’s hands yet. After clicking Submit, this message popped up:

“This institution requires that you pay the application fee prior to submitting the Common App Online. Please complete your payment in the Payments section.”

^Yup, same problem. Im getting nervous

Same with Amherst, thought my Upenn one worked fine.

It’s just commonapp, or the weird bosebill.salliemae website.

Yeah it was weird, my Williams and Amherst all got through. And i submitted all my payments at the same time so I am not entirely sure what’s going on though its probably just overload because everyone is rushing to get it in now

Same problem. I paid and received a confirmation email. However, I still have the red triangle, and it says Not Submitted. =( =( =(.

same problem here with tufts!!! ahhhhhh! its showing up as not submitted!

Does anyone know if Banks are open tomorrow?

i had the same problem, i emailed them and received this reply: Thank you for your message.
If you have received a valid payment receipt from a Sallie Mae payment (email confirmation), but the payment is not showing up in the Common App Online, please use the “Other Fee Waiver” option or “Mail Check” to indicate payment. This will allow you to continue with the submission process. Your record will be updated within the next 24-48 hours to indicate the successful credit card payment.

The Support Team

Thanks for the help, ohsnapitssap :)

Wow thanks a lot  Very helpful!!!

sent the payment, says common app is submitted, email said this: “It may
take a few days for this transaction to be posted to your online”. so i’m assuming it’ll take a while for it to show up. apps due by 1/1/2010 are due at 11:59 pm ON 1/1/2010 (or at least i’m pretty sure) so you still have some time left.

if it let me submit my common app (to northwestern) do i need to do this. i do not see any “other fee waiver” or “mail check option”.

Well, its a problem to some schools like Upenn that requires a payment before you can submit common app. Northwestern doesnt require payment before you can submit so no

Thank you so much ohsnapitssap.
I’m almost bald from the anxiety. I can feel the hair growing back now.
