Online Payment + Deadline

well it worked fine when i sent in my nyu app yesterday( which required a payment before i submit it). where do i find this “mail check” option

Even though the app was submitted, the fee is still due tomorrow (correct me if I’m wrong.) I’m just going to check ‘other fee waiver’ anyway.

^^^yes, i’m pretty sure everything need to be submitted by 1/1/2010 at 11:59 pm

so in other words, if we got an email confirmation, we have nothing to worry about?

Or is that if it still says “not submitted” by 11:59 PM tomorrow, we’re screwed?

Well, solution isn’t the world.

I have a feeling that as long as your Supplement is in on time, you are okay. When I submitted my U Penn application SUPPLEMENT, the “Deadline:” date changed to being just on the Supplement line under the my colleges list. It went away from the actual Application line.

I am in the same boat with U Penn and NYU. I really think that as long as your Supplement and Payment are in today it is going to be fine.

Also, remember, this is going to happen to a lot of people… well anyone who’s school they are applying to requires the payment to be in before the application and are submitting their application within the last two days of the deadline. Blame Sallie Mae, a branch of the government. When you think about it, this is all the government’s fault. JKJK

I cant even get the Netpay to work. To submit the app, I clicked I would send in a check, but it now won’t let me rescind that. I’ll be alright if I send in the check tomorrow, postmarked Jan 1st right?

finally. thanks to the person who posted about the fee waver.

No, Netpay, don’t fail me now.

I’m assuming that there are other options of payment, right?

Wait, no, it’s working now.

Whoo hoo.

Now I just need to finish my supplement.

I already paid online and it’s still giving me the red arrow…wheres the option to make it green? All I see is a “print receipt” option!

Well, for starters, I would definitely print the receipt.

I emailed the common app and they said the same as above, that if you got an email confirmation (mine was from application_help at commonapp.net and it had a confirmation number) but it’s not showing up go ahead and check ‘other fee waiver’ and the credit card payment will show up eventually. I did all that and now everything has the green arrow, so hopefully the credit card payment won’t be all messed up later.

The problem I’m having is that I got the confirmation e-mails for all the payments and on the commonapp website it says “payment received - print receipt” but the arrows are still red

Don’t worry about the arrow color; I think it’s the words that only count.

So, if available, click ‘Other Fee Waiver’ and by Monday, it should show up as paid?

For those that payment showed up today, how long did it take?

Thanks!

Also for those worrying, this is what they told me in an email:

“If you have a receipt, it’s very likely the payment has been processed and received correctly, but it has not been updated on the application. In the event, you are unable to submit your application due to this issue, you will not be penalized. Please keep your receipt for verification and contact us with your transaction number; we’ll check on it for you at that time.”

I did that, ohsnapitssap. But I was wondering if it would mess up our application forms/whatnot because we choose “mail check” and didn’t actually mail the check? I mean, I first paid using a credit card but I didn’t know if colleges would get all tied in a knot over my two payments…ughh this is stressing me out so much! I hate myself for waiting until the last day…

So…it’s too late to chnage anything but this is what I did.

I paid my 75 fee to yale. I submitted the supplement and received the comfirmation e-mail from commonapp_help. Then I went to payments and selected yale. I selected fee waiver and clicked other and confirmed. Then I submiteed the rest of my app. IS that good?

I feel nervous. The Common Application says I submitted my application on 1/01 but it’s still 9:04pm where I’m at.

Is everyone getting this problem except for me? My payments went through immediately for my applications today.

xcross, it was a problem for everyone earlier today. but i just now tried paying for a different school, and now it works.
