Online Summer Courses

Currently i am taking
Geometry H (Yeah i'm behind in math /:) and HOPE (PE Requirement)
I planned on taking Geometry and Algebra 2 in one summer but i realized that wouldn't leave me the best basis for pre cal as i would want so i'm only taking Geometry.
I plan to take Pre Cal H next summer online ( Would that be wise?)

ok to the real question, I want to start a 3rd course. I planned on Spanish 3 H but its not available right now and since i'm a rising sophmore i think my choices that i deem reasonable are

Physics H
AP Art History
AP Human Geography

I could start Human Geography during the summer, finish HOPE and Geometry and then throughout the year do My regular work + AP Human Geography and Physics H

Note: i will be taking a pretty rigorous schedule next year ( AP euro & AP Psych and an Aice class)

I would never take something as concept-based as Physics through an online class. I feel like you really need the whole classroom environment for a class like that. I’d recommend the more fact-based ones like AP Human Geo for online. I would just wait until junior year and take AP Physics B if your school has it.

Yeah i planned on taking AP Physics B
Just would that be impossible to just jump into without a physics background?
I’m just asking because nobody recommends taking AP Chem or AP Bio without taking the Honors versions first

Also, I think im going with AP human geography since I’ll be taking an ap history next year anyway

AP Physics B was my first ever experience with Physics and it was no problem. I had a pretty good teacher, though. You might wanna ask around and see if the teacher is good. But as long as you’re solid at algebra 2 and basic trig and you enjoy science you should have no problem with it. You learn completely different things in AP versions of chem and bio, while AP Physics B is just Honors Physics with more complex problems to solve, the concepts are exactly the same. At least that’s what it’s like in my school.

Okay thank you, I’ll find out who he is and what hes like and see if i can get his input on taking AP Physics. Its not much of a worry right now since I’d be taking AP physics Junior or Senior year , senior year if i take AP Chem.
If anything I’d just get him to give me some basic notes to do on Physics Honors so i have a decent base

What company are you taking these through, and how much are you paying?

FLVS - Florida Virtual School
The courses are free for Florida residents and they also cover AP Exam costs

I think you may be under-estimating FLVS classes. They’re definitely a lot of work. I’m only taking Algebra II this summer and I’m expecting to put in at least 2-3 hours a day just to finish before summer is over. It may be pretty hard balancing Physics and AP Human along with your regular work. Which classes have you taken before?

Drivers ed only lol, I’ve been in hope for 2 weeks and I’ve finished 3/8 modules if that says anything for my “work ethic” but like i said I’d probably only be taking AP Human Geography
which I would give like 4-5 hours a week or more depending on my regular schedule and I’d be following regular pace for that class.

Yeah I’m a junior, just finished APAH with FLVS and it was ridiculously hard as an online class, it’s literally all essays and tests so it’s hard to pace yourself very quickly, plus the material is very convoluted, the way they explain it. I’d go with APHG because it’s such an easy class. I’m taking HOPE online this summer, how is it? What are the assignments like?
