Only 2 years of foreign language.

My school only offers 2 years of Spanish, and ap spanish but you have to be able to write an essay in spanish to get into ap spanish. Will colleges want me to take ap spanish, even then I will only have 2 years of spanish 11-12

If that is all that is available for Foreign Language then colleges will view your app in that context.

If your school do offer AP Spanish and the college recommend/require more than 2 year of world language, then not taking it would be a disadvantage to you.

So, how do other students get into AP Spanish if your school only offers 2 years of Spanish, and how do they perform on the AP exam?

a lot of the school has native speakers, hispnaics make up about maybe 40% of the school

the school doesn’t have many aps so it might be even more important, but I’m not sure I can get in not being a native speaker

Most schools want to see 2-3 years of foreign language. As long as you got good grades in the first two years, I think your courseload is sufficient.

Yes, admissions officers do consider the limited extent of high school classes. Students who did not have the option to take courses to meet the full admissions requirement, but all else is good, are unlikely to be denied admissions because of the schools’ limitations (for example, the student’s high school is located in the hinterland of the state). Ah, but look at the college graduation requirements. You may find that the graduation requirement in foreign language or whatever means you have to make up those two missing years. Broadly, calling deficiencies in required content remedial presents two extra problems. First, the student would be expected to complete the college entrance requirement before addressing the college graduation requirement. Remedial classes involve tuition, but makeup classes do not count towards graduation requirements. If you are in that situation, I suggest asking the college how you can fulfill missing requirements other than remedial classes. You’re not getting remediated, your transcript is.
