I heard that Princeton along with Stanford don't look at high school freshman year grades.
Is this true? :)

Wow, that would suck because i had all A’s freshman year, and senior year will be my hardest schedule yet

Well, sophomore, junior, and senior. But yes, they do disregard freshman grades. Still, I feel that this applies more to bad freshman grades than good ones. If you have straight A’s freshman year, it might help.

Do they have an adjusted class rank than? b/c the gpa for your highschool would obviously include freshman year grades… do they recalculate?

They recalculate GPA, but obviously not rank.

I spoke to my guidance counselor today but she said they look at EVERYTHING and never heard of this for any colleges.
However, they see improvement.

I’m hoping they completely disregard freshman year grades.
Freshman year for me is a 75 and sophomore for me is a 96.

Can anyone confirm this is 100% true :)

I am positive that Princeton drops freshman scores. it says so on their website…I don’t currently have a link though

They don’t even look at them. Is Senior year as important as Sophomore and Junior years? Junior year is more important than Sophomore year, right?

It’s all over this forum that Princeton disregards freshman grades.

But, I wonder: do they pay less attention to class rank as a result of this since it uses freshman grades in its calculation?

Okay, Thanks. What is the average GPA, Princeton or Stanford accepts? I have a 93 so far. (not counting freshman year)
And, How about Stanford? Are you guys positive about them disregarding freshman year grades as well?

And I think Junior year is the most important then sophomore then senior. Most colleges don’t look at senior year. As for class rank, maybe they have their own system of calculating that? :)
