///////////////////

this is gonna cause a flame war.....

You're obviously very informed about Cornell and the Ivy League. (sarcasm)

for current students: how prevalent on campus is this animosity towards those not in the endowed colleges?

to be honest---as an arts/sci student, i never noticed the "animosity" from any student. However, with that said, to say that some students at cornell DO NOT CARE AT ALL about this would be completely false. Basically, what I can say is that "some," not all, of the students in the endowed divisions "privately" share some unwarranted views of those not in the endowed divisions. However, overall, I was pleased how accepting students were at cornell. Cornell is truly a place where everyone can learn.

The OP has a point. After all, the students in endowed colleges play on separate sports teams and are forced to live off campus. Additionally, they are not permitted to take any classes in the endowed colleges, nor are they allowed to interact with the students in them.

Sorry Aggie, can't you read? This water fountain is for Endowed students only!!!

The OP is very well informed about Cornell and is obviously trying to start a "flame war". If you look back at past posts, Cornell was not his first choice and is a legacy admit with a brother, father, two uncles, two grandparents and a great uncle (all Hotel) graduate from Cornell.

Please just ignore the OP. He/she is obviously an idiot.

well, at least the OP's screen name fits perectly with his comments.

We've got a running joke in CALS that if they took our school and its programs away, Cornell (the theoretically self-sustaining Cornell, that is) would lose Cornell Dairy, and in general...oh, basically any foodstuffs, grown or raised. And of course there would be no ivy growing on the walls. :p

Ya I think we can just say he's an idiot. If anyone said this to me at Cornell in a really snippy tone I would probably hit them. Well in my mind anyways LOL (or laugh) either way...:)
But hey we are all going to the same college, so who needs animosity...unless it's towards those scum bag other ivy's that we will massacre in hockey :)

That is a really dumb question.

There is no animosity whatsoever amongst students with regard to what college a student is in at Cornell. Of course, sometimes engineers will joke about a Hotelie's or PAM major's easy cirriculum, but it's always in good jest.

Like nagromis said, the OP is fully aware of the controversy he has started...I guess it was pretty successful too. I wonder about someone like him/her though...here is someone who has a 4.0 unweighted GPA and has finished near the very top of his/her large high school class, but we see here how great grades and ambition are not an indicator of maturity. It's unbecoming for someone to begin a college career this way.

i don't think it's a dumb question ;-)

try saying that when you get to Cornell, it's a great way to make friends, tool.

I completely agree with the OP, which is exactly why I am promoting his "belief" and attempt to start a flame war in such an enthusiastic manner with this one sentence response...

[/sarcasm]

The OP is not an entering Freshman, he's a rising sophomore.

the OP is an ****, or a piece of * (btw I am trying to curse enough to get this thread deleted)

^^ LOL MUnited
