I just thought I had a weird pattern of acceptances/rejections ...

Rejected: Harvard, Stanford
Waitlisted: Tufts, Pomona, Dartmouth and Princeton
Accepted: UCLA, UCBerkley (OOS), BU, UW Honors Program w/ full-ride

I'm out of state, so I thought it was really surprising that I got in to UCLA and Cal, but then... I didn't really get in anywhere else special. What do you guys think?

PS: I hope kids from my school don't read this.

PPS: Also.. I'm kind of having a hard time w/ the rejections/waitlists. I knew of course that there is like 5% chance of getting in, but of course I still believed and hoped I would be that random 5%. It is only human.

um, any opinions from anyone?

Yes, take your lemons and make lemonade. Don't look back. Hold your head high and be a proud student at the school where you decide to go. Wherever that may be, you will meet a lot of new friends, have a lot of good times, study your tush off, and graduate with accomplishments that you can be proud of.

yeah, unfortunately you gotta be a superhuman to get into those schools

.

If you look at Roger Dooley's post and the comments you will see that being a superhuman does not even guarantee admission to those schools; it just gets you into the list for serious consideration. Harvard had more applicants with perfect SAT scores than it had spaces this year.

^I didn't mean superhumans just in the academic sense...

UW Honors = U Washington or U Wisconsin?

EDIT: Nevermind, I see it's Washington from your other posts.

I would go to UW Honors with the full ride. It's a fantastic university.
IMO, UCs are not worth the full out of state tuition, especially considering your other option.

Save the money.

wow, are u from washington state, thats a really huge accomplishment to get a full ride and i would have DIED to go to UCB

yep i'm from Washington, which i think makes the full-ride more understandable. they said they gave out 20 this year.

Sarah i know i wish you could go to UCB for me...

I didn't write this one on the original list but I'm thinking of going to University of San Diego, where I got like a half-tuition scholarship. Obviously that costs a lot more than free at the UW, but I'm desperate to get out of Seattle.
