Getting into UNC from out of state is really tough, as the stories and stats here show. Does anyone have a feel for or know firsthand how much being an alumni child helps the odds of admission for an out of state applicant? Junior S will likely end up with numbers that exceed those generally needed for in-state students but fall below those needed by OOS students, making the alumni question pertinent. If it makes any difference, we do not live in mid-Atlantic region but on the west coast where there are fewer tar heels. Thanks.
