OOS CC transfer chances?

Hello, new here. Thought I would give this a shot.

I didn’t do so well in high school, mostly because of laziness, and partly because of some obstacles which I had to overcome. I enrolled into a Community College in Washington in hopes of getting a transfer degree and attending a University, but I’m unsure if the odds are in my favor.

I’ve just started my second year at Bellevue Community College. Because I am paying for college, rent, phone, insurance, etc… by myself, I do not have very much money, so I was only able to take two courses per quarter.

Courses/grades:
Fall
-College Precalculus, C
-Computer Science (Java programming), B

Winter
-Calculus I (limits, derivatives), B
-Advanced Computer Science (more Java), C+

Spring
-Calculus II (Riemann sums, Integral, volume), B
-English 101, B- (always struggled with English)

Summer
-Calculus III (sequences, series, Taylor/McLaurin polynomials, parametric eq.), B

Fall
-Engineering physics (calculus-based) I, mechanics
-Multivariable calculus
-French I

I plan on applying for Spring quarter, so I would have time to take classes in my winter quarter which would (hopefully) include:

-Vector calculus
-Engineering physics II, electricity and magnetism
-Engineering I, statics

My GPA at the moment is a 2.6, which, from what I have gathered from other posts on this board, is higher than the “competitive” GPA, but still nothing to be proud of. At the end of fall quarter I plan on having a 2.9 or 3.0. So far I have A’s in my classes, even after the first few tests.

By the end of fall quarter, I will have a total of 52 credits which will put me over the requirement. By the end of winter quarter I’d have 68 credits.

I do have work experience, but I’m not sure that it would help me out. I’ve been working at Fred Meyer (grocery store owned by Kroger) for about a year and 4 months.

So what are my chances?

Bump, would really like some chances.

Transfers get in with 2.5’s all the time, so having a 2.9 or 3.0 will really help you. OSU likes to see work experience for high school students so I don’t see why they wouldn’t like to see it for you, it shows that you can work and do school and still maintain a good GPA.

I’d say you have a pretty good shot right now, and an even better shot if you increase your GPA to what you’re planning on getting it at.

Going to bump this to see what other chances I have…

I think you might be accepted into the university but it might be hard to be accepted into the engineering college and to stay in the program. The upper level instructors are not squeamish about failing weaker students.
