I was looking to apply to many state schools for engineering (Georgia tech, Michigan, UIUC, Berkeley, UCLA, UNC chapel hill). As an upstate New York resident, how much stricter is the acceptance than for in state residents? All of these are great schools with decent acceptance rates, but I’m wondering how competitive I will be from OOS.
Are you and your parents willing to pay?
Stony Brook is good and less expensive for you.
Also, no engineering at UNC CH.
How competitive is stony Brook engineering? If I had to choose between it and Binghamton which is better?
DS was high stats student but not cream of the crop. Got into 4 state schools. One had an ok financial package, one had free tuition++ and the other two almost nothing.
