OOS chances to Duke/UNC Chapel Hill?

Hello! I'm a pretty energetic kid looking to attend one of the aforementioned schools. I've been convinced that this is where I fit the best, and I know I'll thrive there. They are both fantastic schools, and provide programs that I want to take part in. I am aware that it is difficult to secure an undergrad spot out of state, but I am going to apply regardless. I go to a premiere Illinois high school, which has produced many students who've gone to either Ivy League or other elite universities. I have strong faith in my schools reputation, and preparation of students for the challenges of college.

My high school credentials:

Academics:
Top quarter of class
3.5 GPA
29 Composite ACT
Upward trend of Advanced/AP courses

Volunteer/Work:
3 year member of Key Club, volunteered over 60 hours
National Honor Society, volunteered over 20 hours
Boy Scouts of America, volunteered over 300 hours
Shepard group leader at my church, one hour per week for 2 years

I have great faith in my essays, and my recommendations are stellar. I haven't read them, as I won't, but they are from teachers who know me well from the class and will not write superficial facts about me, rather, my successes and work ethic.

I am also Hispanic, if that plays any role in the admissions process.

Honestly, with a 3.5 gpa and a 29 on the ACT, you don’t have a chance for either school.
Being OOS for unc really hurts your chances. The only way you could get into unc is if you have a significant political or school connection. You have a better chance with duke if you can get your ACT to a 33 or better
