I am a white male OOS senior, and I have submitted my application to UNC for early action</p>

<p>I have a 2250 SAT
800 Writing
800 Critical Reading
650 Math
750 US history SAT II
720 Literature SAT II
4.30 GPA Weighted
4.00 GPA Unweighted
Ranked in the top 5% of my class
I am not the best math student, but I have taken top level AP's and Honors in all other subjects through high school</p>

-FBLA State Champion
-FBLA Nationals 9th place finalist
-Junior Achievement Company Program
-Junior Achievement Regional Employee of the Year
-Academic Competition Team, 10th, 11th, 12th grade, captain of the Varsity team 11th and 12th.
-NHS member 10th, 11th, 12th
-Model UN Treasurer 12th grade
-Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week Alum (week long business program where I was a CEO of a student company of 18)
-CEO of Junior Achievement Company Program for 12th grade
-Over 150 hours of volunteer service at local food pantry
-7 months work experience as top cashier and cashier trainer at local supermarket</p>

<p>I worked with a consultant for my common app and supplement essay and both are excellent
I also received a glowing and detailed letter of recommendation from a UNC chapel hill alum whom I worked with at the Junior Achievement Company Program</p>

<p>UNC-CH would have been a low match if he were an in-stater.</p>

<p>But OOS is considerably harder as UNC-CH is one of the most protectionistic public schools there is. In short, when dealing with out-of-staters for UNC-CH, take Duke’s scattergram instead. Or slightly easier than Duke.</p>

<p>UNC: High match (OOS plays very heavily against you)
Duke: Low reach</p>

<p>I assume PSU would be a good safety for you.</p>
