GPA: 3.3
ACT: 28
11 AP/honors courses
good EC's (football, volunteer work, etc.)

I have a significant upward trend in my grades (2.7 in 9th, 3.0 in 10th, 4.1 in 11th, and 3.9 through first sem. 12th grade)

I'm considering applying to a school in the DC area as I have a lot of family there, would I have a decent chance of getting into Maryland-CP??

(also considering GMU...)

good stats but i feel like your gpa might be an issue

If that’s your weighted GPA, then it’ll be a reach, especially since you’re OOS. The average weighted GPA is around 4.0. Your ACT score is on par with the school though.

GMU would be a match even as an OOS.

The problem is you have not stated where from OOS you are. VA is not as competitive as NJ, so you have a better chance if that is your home state.

You did not say if it is weighted, as others have stated a weighted gpa of 3.3 will hurt, even if it is a 4.5 scale.
