OOS Financial Aid - How much?

I am seriously considering applying for transfer admission to Texas, but I have some concerns.

Since it's a state university, doesn't that mean that it needs to take care of the in-state needs first, meaning the OOS kids mainly get loans? UT says it meets 95% of need, and 51% in grants, but how is it for OOS kids?

Also, with rising tuition costs, will they increase financial aid awards the next few years?

I'm just afraid of getting an admit, and having to deny it because of my high need (My EFC is about 9K).

apply for finaid early and see what happens...i know they give oos tuition waivers where oos students pay in state fees, but these are limited and awarded to exceptional students, no harm in trying

My aid package was mostly loans. Not a very good fin aid package but there is no harm in trying.

The OOS waivers are awarded if you win a scholarship against in-state residents. Definitely worth a try :-)

Yeah definitely try applying for financial aid early... and don't forget about the scholarships! I am an OOSS and I was told that financial aid is very minimal for us... that usually after the first year there are better chances at financial aid. Let's see what happens!
Good luck on those scholarships and financial aid! =)
