OOS Merit Scholarships

Are there any guaranteed merit scholarships given by ASU based on GPA/ACT scores? My daughter currently has 3.9 weighted gpa and 27 ACT - hoping to bring this up to at least 30. She is looking for a good journalism school but we really can’t afford OOS without significant scholarship. We will not qualify for need-based financial aid.

I’ve searched the website and haven’t found any details on the scholarships that are offered for OOS students.

ASU has an online scholarship estimator at

https://students.asu.edu/scholarships/estimator/

to estimate is based on IS/OOS, GPA/rank, and ACT/SAT scores. The page states that the data is based on the year 2011-2012.

However, it also says “you may qualify for x dollars”. It is per year, renewable for subsequent years but I don’t know that this means they are guaranteed. You probably have to call the admissions office to answer that.

STEMFamily has the correct information.

The only other I can add is that your daughter will have to maintain a 3.0 gpa throughout each year. In addition, at any time I believe, ASU is allowed to reduce, or increase her scholarship depending on what happens to the university in terms of their budget, and what they receive in donations.

In addition to this merit scholarship they do have a great source on their site for scholarships that are with the university, and private.
