OOS Scholarship Opportunities

My DD1 (rising Senior) is interested in going to UCONN, we are OOS and are looking to see if she may be eligible for any scholarships/Merit Aid. It is not likely we will be eligible for any material financial aid, so merit would be great if she could get it.

Her Stats are as follows.

Competitive Catholic All girls HS.
All Honors and AP
UW GPA 4.0/4.0 W=?
ACT 32 (retaking in a couple of weeks)
SAT 1980 Retaking in a Oct. -she was kind of disappointed with this score, thinks she will do much better the second time.

2 AP so far (4,5)
3 APs senior year.

Any thoughts from the UCONN Thread would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!

Merit scholarship money is subtracted from need-based totals. This policy is generally the same at most universities.

My son got an OOS merit scholarship from UConn. He is just starting his freshman year. His stats were about as good as your daughter’s. His scholarship was not based or formulated by need. It is a set scholarship- if you get it, the OOS gets 1/2 tuition paid for 4 years. When the tuition went up, they upped the scholarship. Applying early is the key. Our friend did not get the scholarship, because she applied later, and I think they probably ran out of $ by then. He had alot of options, but in the end UConn seemed like the most bang for your buck. Your daughter sounds great, especially the ACT. She will have alot of options, then the hard part will be deciding!!!

Thanks for the replies. We will definately apply early…go Huskies.

PS. My son seems to love it. I hope it’s not just a honeymoon phase.
