OOS student

How would an out of state student do at Sonoma? Looks like about 98% are in-state. SSU is a member of COPLAC and I think it would be a great match for my S. He was born about an hour away from Sonoma but hasn't lived in CA for more than 13 years. He'd probably blend right in, I think. With CA's budget problems, are they even accepting OOS students?

Yes.

OOS is going to be tough, but if your S has good stats he shouldn't have too much of a problem.

I can't imagine being OOS causing too much of a problem. After the first few weeks no one will even ask. Occasionally I'll ask someone I've just met, "Where are you from?" But I forget about it after a while. It's not a big deal. :)

It’s not so tough, CSU’s get very few OOS candidates because not many want to pay the OOS fees for them, it’s a myth that it’s hard to get in. If he has at least the average stats he’ll have a good shot. Just don’t count on any financial aid.
