OOS Students: limit, higher standards, ??

My D wants to g to UCF; we are OOS (LA). She is only a freshman, but here are her stats (including what is planned):

-GPA 4.0 (unweighted) 4.25 (weighted)
-ACT: 26 (as a freshman w/o any prep. will definitely take again)
-PSAT: 192 (CR=59, Math=68, Writing=65)
-SAT will take May 1 but estimate from PSAT: 1920??
-gifted English / Math (she's two years ahead in Math, currently in Algebra II ) -- Total 8
-honors social studies/science -- Total 8
-----all "core" courses will be honors or gifted

-AP courses: English IV, CalculusAB, US History, Psychology (to be taken in Jr/Sr years)
-ECs: 4 yrs symphonic band, dance team, talented theatre, Fellowship Christian Athletes; 3 yrs National Honor Society; Beta Club; Drama Club/Thespian Society

Currently no community or volunteer hours, except for involvement in community theatrical productions. I'm thinking that is something she needs to do in next 3.5 years?

Anyway, are there different admission standards for OOS students? Is there a limit?

She’s super solid already.

Look closely at the National Merit Scholar criteria. Your daughter has the credentials (PSAT score) to increase over the next 2 years to make Finalist and UCF greatly values NMS Finalists and offers tremendous scholarship for them.

Thanks Joe! Yes, thanks to the great info here on CC I have discovered NMSF info.

In LA the Selection Index over the last 3 years ranged from 207 to 209. She did the PSAT with NO prep, so we are probably going to invest some time in SAT prep in the hopes that it will bump up her PSAT score by the time she’s a junior.

That is probably the only way she could go to UCF… we just couldn’t afford it any other way. I already have a S in college in LA…hopefully he’ll be in his senior year and looking to graduate when my D’s a freshman!

We had planned on state (LA) schools for both, but my D’s dream is to work at Disney World. I know that going to college in the same town as you plan to work one day, particularly in the case of Disney where there are so many opportunities for contacts, is very valuable!
