OOS Transfer $$$

<p>I am potentially applying to UCLA and Berkeley as an oos transfer student. I am aware that I'd have to pay the ~35k dollar oos price tag, but since it's 10k lower than most private colleges I am comfortable with it. </p>

<p>My questions is as an OOS how much aid/scholarships do they give out? Is it like slim-to-none? I'd only be going for two years so I wouldn't mind paying oos tuition for a reasonable price but can not justify taking $35kx2 in private loans just to go...</p>

<p>The UC schools give zero financial aid towards the OOS fees. Here is a snippet from UCSD; all the UCs have the same policy

Non-California residents pay Non-California Resident Supplemental Tuition (currently estimated to be $22,878 annually) in addition to charges paid by in-state students. The university is unable to provide university grant or scholarship support for this additional tuition cost. Federal loans, which must be repaid by you or your family, may help cover some or all of this cost. Not all Non-California residents will qualify for a Federal or Private Loan, thus all Non-California resident families should be prepared to pay the additional cost, currently $22,878 annually, from family resources.

<p>Thank you for that info mike! I’m confused, how is it 22,978 for oos when it says on the website it costs nearly 35,000 for oos?</p>
