I contacted the admissions office about tuition, and they gave me info about completing the out of state tuition waiver form. (I’m international)
- How does this really work? When do I get the tuition waivement decision?
- What are the chances that I can get the OOS tuition waiver?
Thanks!
The chances are zero unless you are qualified to receive in-state tuition, which generally requires that you have a parent, guardian, or spouse who lives and works in Georgia. The waiver requires your parent/guardian/spouse to provide evidence that they paid Georgia state income taxes and hold a valid driver’s GA driver’s license. You also would have to provide a birth certificate showing they are your parent or a marriage license showing you are married to the GA resident.
There are certain other eligible exemptions for university employees and dependents, members of the military/reserves stationed in GA, those in GA due to a NATO assignment, etc…, but if you’re just looking to get free in-state tuition with out a qualifying reason, that’s not going to happen.
