i didn't think that was legal you know, i mean if it was me having the heart surgery, i wouldn't want a bunch of high schoolers gawking</p>
<p>I don't think the school would let us go if it weren't legal.</p>
<p>I recently observed an open-heart surgery up close, and it was really no big deal. Not gross in the slightest. Also, while I needed to sign an OSHA form, patient consent didn't seem to be a part of the equation...I mean, what if it were medical school students observing an operation a patient couldn't just say he/she didn't want them in there. If it's educational, there's nothing wrong with it from a legal standpoint I don't think.</p>
