Open Houses

Do you think it's better to attend an Open House, visit on a regular day, or do both?

I visited at both and I can say that the Open House was a lot better. I recommend it because they offer more than just the panel and tour. They had information sessions on financial aid, housing, and advanced placement credits. Plus, they give you a free food ticket for bartlett.

If you live near Chicago then by all means come more than once.
The tour is somewhat different each time. Ask questions and they'll give you frank answers for the most part. You have to remember that they're trying to sell the school to you, so they will sugar it up a little bit.
The panel- same thing. Ask questions to get more out of it.
You can always go to explore. Visit some coffee shops, ask for normal hangouts, or even randomly talk to a student about something you're wondering. There are millions of opportunities to choose from. I think the most suggested place is the used bookstore.

Thanks for the info. Are there scheduled things for parents to do as well, or do parents tag along with the prospective students or do the parents just fend for themselves?
Thanks again!
