Is this true?

Uh YES…You cannot be OPENLY GAY and serve in any branch of the United States Military.

ever heard the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy and the controversy about it in the news lately?

Yep. Take it up with Congress. They’re the ones who made it law.

Actually former President Bill Clinton. He initially wanted to go the full route and allow open homosexuals to serve, but the Joint Chiefs had a serious disagreement. He created DADT by Executive Order, and it has remained so since the early 90’s. President Obama is pressing for full repeal which will require congress to work it out in the UCMJ.

Hopefully the new UCMJ adjustment will allow equal rights for cross-dressers. Wouldn’t want to come back in a couple of years and have to change it again.

You cannot tell me that seeing your male commander downtown in a dress would not have an effect on unit cohesion. Call me close-minded, but there is a rational purpose behind current regulations.

Isn’t the uniform pretty much the same for males and females anyway?

07PETKO: My post was said in jest. But thank you for the mental image of my former 1st Sergent (from almost 40 years ago) in a dress.

I’m thinking its the eyeshadow that’s really causing you the painful mental image… ;-)

Haha, that is a pretty funny image. It’s so hard to tell who’s joking anymore though…

Sadly…at least from my perspective it seems the outrageous is not so unthinkable anymore.

I would love to hear about the “frat hit” for this infraction.
