Opera/Voice program for GRAD school

Hello!

i'm currently applying for grad school for opera/voice as a baritone. I will be finishing up my undergraduate this upcoming May. I'm looking into East Coast schools.

Currently on my list:

University of Maryland
University of Tennessee (Knoxville)
Catholic University
Florida State University
Boston Conservatory
Manhattan School of Music

What do you think about these schools? Is there some school I should get rid of? I'm looking for a good teacher but also some good performance opportunities as well as scholarships/assistantships.

FIRST find your potential teacher(s) first then think about what the schools offer. This is VERY important!

Don’t forget New England Conservatory of Music in Boston and Eastman in Rochester.

You should be having frank discussions with your current teacher and other professionals who have heard you as to what sort of teacher you need to take you to that next level. There are plenty of great teachers, but not every great teacher or great institution is suitable for your particular requirements. Once you find that fit, the money will more than likely follow.
