Opinions needed

Hello,

I'm currently applying as a transfer applicant to UF but will have UCF as a back up. Although I'm hoping to be accepted to UF, I'm taking other schools into consideration. If it was necessary, I would end up choosing UCF or possibly USF. I know, there's been numerous threads before about which is better but I do need an overall outlook. I need to know which is more academically well rounded and which gains more respect or national attention, if you will, outside of Florida. Obviously I understand they can't compare to the larger universities (such as UF) but as a plan B, I'd like to choose the next best school.

Some things that might be useful: I'm hoping to be an English major with an emphasis in creative writing, with a minor, possibly in film studies.

I'm aware FSU might be an option but I'm focusing on these schools right now.

Also does anyone have any thoughts on UNF? Just curious on how it's reviewed in comparison with UCF/USF. Most importantly, though, any valuable info regarding UCF/USF would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again!

FSU would likely be the best option of all for the areas you mentioned. You may want to rethink your list.

Hi Parent2Noles,

I agree; that was actually my first choice! Unfortunately, after all my dedication toward FSU I found out recently that they will not accept my application for Spring 2011 term as I have not finished my CLAS requirements, even though I will have them done (along with my AA) by the end of this term. Unless I would want to start FSU in Summer 2011, I have no chance for Spring. Thanks again, though, for your help!

That’s only a semester…and it is the school for those areas. If you were admitted to the Film School you’d be in Fat City.

Very true. Thanks!
