Opinions on my Senior Year Schedule?

@Thumper1 I’ve taken an atleast one music/art class my entire school career. But, I think my school’s having budget issues, so arts is always the first to go. The art and certain APs aren’t gonna be available next year.

@thumper1 I know. Variety is really important, but as I’m applying to college, I wanted to focus on more of my outside activities and show how some those and my own personal experiences have shaped me. It sounds kind of boring, but I haven’t really been thinking about taking classes that will be easier on me because I know that I can start to slack easily.

Should take physics for sure. It sounds like math is the equivalent of pre-calc and the next step in the sequence so no problem there. My kids both took AP Bio as their first science AP - one in 10th and one in 11th grade. They did not find it difficult, just a lot of work because it covers so much material. If you aren’t going into science many colleges will give general education courses even if they won’t give credit in the major. Generally my advice is take the APs if you are interested, but don’t count on them counting for credit. My younger son’s college for example, did give credit for most of the APs, but you could only count five APs total. They still liked to see a rigorous high school transcript though.

@mathmom Thanks for the input and no I’m not expecting the credit. But, atleast I’ll have an overview of the material for when I take it in college.
