I haven't taken my practice SSAT as I ordered the PR study book and the Kaplan and they will both be here tomorrow but I have done some research on these schools and I am wondering if you guys could tell me how selective they are, how good their financial aid is, if they are worth applying to in 11th grade, what ones I shouldn't apply to, and average SSAT score accepted.

Any help what so ever of previous knowledge or anything would be great. Thank you!

You might not get very many opinions on those schools since they are less known and less selective.

So do you think these schools would be more realistic for a B student?

Pomfret and Kent are less known and less selective??? Excuse me while I pick myself up off the floor.

@PhotographerMom Where are you? I’m down here and I don’t see you anywhere.

I know Pomfret and Kent are very selective and prestigious schools, but have higher admission rates than, say, Andover and Exeter. The size and age of the schools also means they’re probably not as well-known, which does not mean they are not fantastic schools that are hard to get into.

First of all, I applaud you for hitting the ground running! If you keep this type of dedication up and show this in your application, I would say you have a good chance. Those are all fine schools, and I also think it would be wise to look past schools for rolling admissions… Just in case!

@HistoryGeek40 Thank you. I really want to get the boarding school experience. I know I have made some academic mistakes in the past but I am willing to work as hard as I can to fix my mistakes. If anyone has any feedback feel free to post it!

Fountain Valley School in Colorado Springs has excellent access to outdoor activities too. Very good academics and fantastic food. It doesn’t have a high name recognition but is an excellent hidden gem. Dunn School in Los Olivos, CA is also good, small and very friendly. If you don’t mind going to the schools in other than the East Coast area, these are the ones to look at.

I don’t mind going anywhere but the south. @patronyork

I also love snowboarding so I will definitely further look into Fountain Valley School!

@jamesfranco- Definitely checkout The Gunnery ( Washington Depot, CT ) and Canterbury ( New Milford, CT).

Brewster and VT Academy are also viable options. Good luck.

Checked them both out @PhotographerMom Gunnery seems possible but Canterbury seems a little too selective. Anyone else have any opinions on these schools?
