Opinions - submit sat subject score or not?

DS received his English Lit subject test score, and it is not that great. 640 - which apparently is 54%. Should he not
submit this score to the UCs or other colleges he will be applying?

Only a small percentage of very selective colleges want SAT 2 tests, so if they ask for them, the scores should be above 700 ideally. If the school considers them if submitted, the same applies. So there probably isn’t a benefit to submitting 640, tbh.

Well, he’s only taken one other subject test which he has scored over 700 on. He said he’s sick of testing and is done. He has no plans to take another exam in December. Will it look odd if he just submits one subject test?

My understanding is that the colleges who want them usually want two. If the college considers them if submitted, then one is fine.

Is he subject test on which he scored a 700+ a foreign language? Some colleges use the subject test for placing out of a language requirement even if they don’t require them for admission.

Unless he is applying to some schools that require the tests for admission, the subject test scores aren’t necessary to submit as others stated. My younger son didn’t take any and still was admitted to fairly competitive schools. None of the schools on his list required them. I don’t blame your son for feeling all tested out. It"s a little over the top, all the testing and application stress.
