Please advise!

My daughter just got her subject test scores and she got 650 in Bio and 700 in Literature and she is not very happy with these scores and so is wondering if entering these scores for UCs would be worth it or if it would be detrimental to her profile?
Can you please advise if she should not mention these subject test scores to the UC campuses?
FYI: her composite SAT score is 2180 with CR: 750, M: 630 and W: 800.

She was just waiting for these scores and now she is in a dilemma about whether to report these or not?

Thank you so much.

I don’t think those are bad scores, especially the one in literature. That score, coupled with her excellent SAT scores in writing and reading, show her strengths. Go ahead and report them.

650 in Bio: 64-percentile
700 in lit: 81-percentile

Just some stats to consider. I don’t think either score would be detrimental.

Subject scores skew down because the cohort is much smarter…most of the kids taking these tests are competing for spots at most selectives. So her scores are not as bad as she thinks they are.

My son has similair scores 690 Math II. 690 Lit, 33 ACT. He included all these on his Berkeley app.

Thanks everybody for your prompt responses.
I will advise her to report the scores then.

@Pancaked: Btw, if 700 is 81-percentile, it means that a score of 800 is probably 100-percentile or maybe 99-percentile ? So it means 81% of students who took the SAT II Lit are below my D…is that right?

Thank you

A 700 in Lit would be 99-percentile, yes. Your daughter scored higher than than 81% of test takers.
