Just to clarify, I have absolutely no intentions of asking anyone to prom.

However, it always has confused me how kids would know when they should ask someone. I feel like either you ask too early and its awkward or it'd be too late.

Not now, numbskull.

If you’re ever planning on asking someone, do it fast. They could very well be taken and it’ll be embarrassing. Not implying that it has happened to me, lol. I would recommend doing it a week prior to the week of the prom or sooner. In any case, you should ask the person when you’re at lunch or walking down the hall or after school.

wouldn’t you want to date someone before going to prom? maybe become boyfriend and girlfriend first? i would say ask this person out on a date, and then ask about prom when things are going well. just don’t wait too long, because if you’re not in an exclusive relationship, then this person could say yes to someone else

ps don’t take relationship advice from repede LOL

Lol @ the 14 year old on this thread giving out prom advice.

Of course you’d do it “a week prior to the week of prom or sooner”. You need several weeks just to plan all the prom details out.

I don’t know, like a month in advance or something. When you start hearing people talk about prom.

Not necessarily, but if you want to date someone anyway you could ask them out now and worry about prom later.

You don’t have to date a girl to ask her to prom…

I would say at least month (3 weeks or less would not be ideal). Maybe even 2.

Yeah I think a month or two in advance is good. Girls take forever to coordinate all these things and choose a dress so it’d be best not to stress her out by asking a week or two before.

Probably around a month before, since girls like to plan out dresses and matching ties and limos and where to go beforehand.

Hahah this guy at my school asked a girl who was way out of his league to prom in September… Prom is in April. It was a bit sad since she just laughed at him and never replied.
