Hello everybody,
In the “Additional Information” part of the Question Section of the Carleton College at Common app is written:
“Is there any additional information you feel we need to know regarding your application? (Optional, no more than 250 words)”. Right now I have no idea about what to write here. Do you have any suggestions? Will it affect the admission process if I leave it blank?
Thank you!
My daughter left it blank. Doing so should not affect the admission process. I think it is intended for applicants who have special circumstances that might merit an explanation; for example, a dramatic fluctuation in grades due to illness, a lack of extra-curriculars due to family responsibilities at home, an unusual event or project that won’t take place until the last part of senior year–that sort of thing.
I think this question is only there to provide special circumstances. You already have a 650-word Additional Information Section on the CommonApp…honestly, I’m not sure why anyone would fill this question out.
OP, this question is different from, say, Duke’s final supplemental essay, which is “optional” (a.k.a. strongly recommended if you want acceptance).
