Optional Paragraph-Brown App

I was wondering what people put for this optional question on the Brown application:

We are confident that the information you have submitted through the Common Application and our Brown Supplement will give us a full picture of who you are. However, if there is something we have not asked that you feel is specific to your candidacy at Brown, you may address that here. Please be judicious, and limit what you write to a paragraph or less.

I’m really confused by this space…it sounds really serious, like they’ll look down if you write the wrong thing. Is this a place to put like “i committed a crime once but I still want to attend Brown” or is this just a place to put more additional info? Has this been on Brown applications in the past?

Thanks.

I don't think they're looking for an additional essay, but something that really hasn't been said in the rest of the app. ex: I can speak seven languages, I lived in korea until I was seven, I started a lemonade stand when I was five and it grew into an international business, but tanked when I was nine, etc.

I've actually heard that unless you have something REALLY important to say, it's a good idea not to write anything here....it's just extra time and space to admissions officers, and sometimes it seems like you're saying the supplement didn't have enough info on it. Unless there's something you really want them to know, I would just "give your application more of a personality" through your essays, recommendations, etc.

But shouldn't anything you would write down in the section just go in the additional info section on the normal common app?

They specify to use the section with caution... I'm not going to write anything.
