Optional personal essay

In lieu of an essay or personal statement, we ask interested applicants to answer a series of short answer questions. Answering the following questions is optional, but strongly encouraged. Your answers may increase the likelihood that you are considered for scholarships, guaranteed admission to graduate or professional school, or special consideration due to extenuating circumstances. If you decide to submit short answers, please answer all the questions:

Describe yourself in 140 characters or less.
In 140 characters or less, describe why Pitt is a good choice for you.
Describe a situation where things were working against you. What did you handle well and what would you change if you had to do it over?

Does it matter if I answer this in the form of an essay or in short answers?
If I write it as an essay, what would the limit be?

I think it specifies 7000 characters or less for the last question.

@Sunrise97 The first two answers are designed to be like a tweet. The last one can be longer (you don’t need to go all the way up to 7,000 characters, though). Please note: it is 7,000 characters, not words. Good luck!
