optional supplement on one of your activities or some other personal aspect

I got an email from ucla asking for me to send a supplement that gave more information about me. Did anyone get an email like this back in February? Does this mean I have a better chance of getting into ucla? I have a 3.6 uc gpa, 2000 sat score, and I am an eagle scout. I had strong ec's, strong essays, and went to a very hard private school.

dude youre lucky to have gotten this

swamyismyguru,

when did you get this email?

i got this too..but i doubt it helped me because my first semester grade were horrible

i got it february 26th and it was due february 28th. i sent in my optional supplement that day.

oh ok.. well thats good! it could mean you have a better chance... what did you talk about in your supplemental? if its too personal you dont have to but i meant just in terms of extracurriculars

i just talked more about my research and my research group's involvement with washington dc elementary school's lead contaminated water.

wow thats pretty strong... oh man well we'll all hope for the best! hopefully soon! :)

i dunno i remember talking to some ppl about the optional and alot of my friends who got it had 3.6, 3.7 UC w and 1900's to 2000's. im assuming you got this cuz you're in the "borderline" group and they need a reason to accept you. Or if you cynically want to view it, a reason to weed you out.

Is this only of instate students. I'm from Florida and I have a very special issue and I feel I'm borderline too with 4.1 UC GPA and okay SATs.
