Hello everyone,
I am currently a freshman in high school but I often think a lot about my future at night. I am a very exceptional student in math, and I’m pretty sure I will have finished any math courses for any major besides Math itself by the time I start college. I am looking at going to LSU in Baton Rouge for undergrad, so I will most likely major in an engineering field. Electrical, civil, and biological are my main interests. I know it’s a big headstart, but what would be the best way to plan? Also, I care less about the money I make and more about the people I help.
For now, I’d say work hard in your high school classes. As time goes on, you’ll learn more about what kind of classes you do and don’t like. I did not decide upon engineering major (tentatively) until junior or senior year of high school.
Okay. I think things will be more clear for me in the later parts of high school. My school has a College Prep class where we basically research colleges and stuff like that. It’s once a week for Junior (spring) and Senior (fall). I just want to know where I can best use my math skills.
I decided on engineering after taking a class freshman year and when I joined an after school program related to it. Just explore throughout high school and you’ll find your interests if you go looking for them. Currently a senior here. Just remember to have fun and enjoy your experience!
